This fund is in support of an ambitious culinary arts center to be built on the college’s Grand Strand Campus and has been launched cooperatively between the David Brittain family and the Horry Georgetown Technical College Foundation in honor of his life, work, and contributions to his community.
This HGTC facility will become the foundation for food service training in the area and will shape a higher vision for Grand Strand dining and the food industry in our area. This new home for HGTC’s Culinary Arts program will allow the college to expand from 160 students to 450 upon completion, in a wide variety of culinary specialties.
The Foundation is looking to raise $3,000,000 in donations to the David L. Brittain Legacy Fund for Culinary Arts Capital Campaign. This funding will allow the college to elevate the quality of instruction and equipment to prepare students for great food industry careers. There are a variety of ways to give and please contact the Foundation office at 843-477-2041 or 843-477-2105 if you would like to help!
