McLeod Health Continues Investment in HGTC Nursing and Health Sciences Institute with $75,000 Gift
The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Foundation has received a $75,000 gift from McLeod Health, marking the third installment of the healthcare organization’s $375,000 pledge made in 2024 to support the Nursing and Health Sciences Institute on HGTC’s Grand Strand Campus.
McLeod Health’s continued investment reflects a shared commitment to preparing the next generation of highly skilled nurses and allied health professionals to meet the growing healthcare needs of Horry, Georgetown and surrounding communities.

Dr. Marilyn “Murph” Fore, president of Horry-Georgetown Technical College, said the continued partnership demonstrates the impact of collaboration between education and healthcare.

The Nursing and Health Sciences Institute, which opened in July 2025, provides students with access to state-of-the-art classrooms, advanced simulation laboratories and collaborative learning spaces that replicate real-world healthcare environments. These resources equip graduates with the skills and confidence needed to excel in today’s healthcare workforce while helping address South Carolina’s growing demand for qualified healthcare professionals.
